Squirrels Golf Society
Who Are They
The first meeting of the Squirrels Golf Society was held at Hoebridge Golf Club on 16th November 1989. The new President claimed the right to hit the first ball and surrounded by about 30 members managed to hit the ball all of 5 yards. He cannot be named but he has a brother called Harry.
Present membership numbers 54 and at the 5 meetings held every year there is an average attendance of 20-24 players. Handicaps range from 11-27 with most players in the18-26 bracket. The meetings take place mid week and are usually held in the local area. Over the last few years the Society has played Pine Ridge, Bramley, Basingstoke, Hartley Wintney, Camberley Heath, Chobham, Windlesham, Blackmoor, The Army, Oak Park, West Surrey and Merrist Wood. The golfing delights of Northern France have also been sampled from time to time.
Joining
Any member of Camberley RFC may join the Squirrels Golf Society and new players are always welcome. The annual membership subscription is £10 and if you are interested in joining please contact Richard Sanders on 01256-762118 or email richardbarwise@aol.com
