The following are a selection of photos taken at the Club Dinner which was held on April 26th. Many thanks to Derek Olsen and Harry Fish for organising such a good evening and lets look to making next seasons even more successful.
!stXV and partners early in the evening!!
Don't they all look smart - and so well behaved!!!
Chris clearly enjoys Bills joke - is the guy behind going to use it on May 25th?????
Mrs M in charge ?
What is Kate doing with those balloons?
Gus obviously impressed by Lisa's new frock!!!
So is the coach being fined for removing his tie too early!!!
Neil obviously enjoying the evening
It has to be Fish Bros leading the dancing!!!
And here is the mastermind Mr O - looks like he's multi tasking?
Thanks to Bill White for the pictures - amazingly focussed considering everything.
At the recent Players evening James Smith, vice chairman of the mini section, became this years Peter Stevens Clubman of the Year in recognition of his work both in the mini group and also for the very successful festivals held during the season. James is seen here receiving his award from Roger Berry
Alex Hughes a member of the U16s was awarded his Welsh U16s A cap in a recent International tournament held at Millfield school.

Alan Forfar, Club Secretary, welcomes the Mayor of Surrey Heath
Neil Doody on the left and Roger Chamberlain were part of the welcoming party
The mayor of Surrey Heath , Councillor Keith Bush, visited the club on Satureday 11th November to see the local derby clash between Surrey Heath clubs Camberley and Chobham. Sadly for Camberley he witnessed a Chobham victory.
· After 5 months finances are running broadly on budget.
o Bar trading is roughly flat on last year – remains an area for focus. Recent events have been a great success and well supported – more to come!
o Sponsorship revenues currently ahead thanks to several significant new sponsors and the full programme of England internationals. We need a strong 2nd half of season to reach the ambitious budget.
o Membership subscriptions being collected and running well ahead of last year (but slightly short of budget) – thanks to Gareth Jones, Membership Sec, and his team.
· The worrying cashflow situation, initially averted via the successful appeal in June, is now looking healthier as a result of the stringent and ambitious financial plan covering sponsorship, subscriptions and sales that is now taking shape. Good news, but only the first step and continued prudence and strong membership support required to avoid repetition.
· 1st team performances much improved this season, with playing numbers up substantially and the capability of fielding 3 sides regularly
· Several close, hard fought recent wins mean that 1st XV is now in the top half of the table.
· 2nd team have had several excellent performances but need regular fixtures and a manager.
· Marti Jerrard working hard and delivering good start to season for 3s. Also planning a number of vets games for a resurrected G&Ts side.
· Ladies having a much better year – unbeaten in first 5 games! Several new players means the numbers are looking more encouraging too.
· Membership numbers building beyond 300 with more to come – should be ahead of last years 410 fairly soon. Excellent intake of new kinders (currently running at approx 40)
· New team of Ian Russell, Tom Hazeldon and Dave Harvey making great progress including monthly youth meetings for coaches/managers. We still need more volunteers to assist in running and administrating youth section.
· POST MEETING NOTE - Oct 19th Festival was a huge success. Big thanks to James Smith. Attention needed on parking issues and catering capacity before next festival)

Financial
• After 11 months finances are tight and we are running behind budget.
o Bar trading has been well down on last year – not helped by lack of home league games. Planned events have been poorly supported – needs action/concerted push
o Sponsorship revenues down on previous years.
o Utility bills showing significant (unavoidable) year on year increase.
o Significant number of players and social membership subscription still outstanding – these are seriously overdue and (while we have an active chasing team in place) it is our intention to consider measures to prevent non-payers accessing club facilities.
• Financial sub group is working to identify and progress options to restructure/improve financial position. Target is to have firm strategy agreed before AGM.
Playing – Adult
• 1st team performances much improved, with 3 wins from last 4 almost complete!
• This season we have registered 42 new players of whom 28 have played 1st XV league.
• pre-season, including migration of U18s to senior teams already planned, along with expanded coaching team under Jon Cant (includes Russell Kirby, Graeme Fleming, Andy Walsh & Andy Hansford)
• Next season will see 3 senior sides playing regularly – all in league/merit tables.
• Ladies having tough year – relegation confirmed. More numbers needed. However, “things are looking up” after recent improved performances. Victory over L Welsh the target!
Playing – Youth
• U16 squad needs new head coach for next year – confirmation for current U15 & U16 squads of arrangements for next season (as part of integrated senior level coaching structure) due shortly.
• April 13th mini festival will be huge! Big thanks to James Smith. Come and support!
• 1st aid training all complete across all age groups
• New structure for youth management progressing – more news soon. We still need volunteers, however big or small the contribution you could make, please come forward.
Website – we urgently need one or two volunteers to assist with the writing and posting of reports and news to keep the website live and up to date. No great technology skills required, just a little time and commitment. If you can help please let me or an Exec member know.
EVENT DATES – these events are critical fund-raisers for your club. Please support them.
• End of Season Weekend (presentation night on Friday, men’s/youth 7s on Saturday & Ladies 10s on Sunday) planned for 25/26/27 April. Includes Club Dinner Sat 26th April
• Club Dinner – Saturday 26th April. £40 per head to include 3 course dinner, wine, champagne reception, music and dancing (Lounge suits or black tie)
• Watchetts Fair – July 5th. CRFC heavily involved and help needed. Please see Dave Harvey
***Your club has never needed your support at these events (or in any other way) more than it does now. Please make the effort and contribute***

Mike Courtness presented a summary of financial position clearly demonstrating the difficulties we face - we are fundamentally unable to continue in this situation much longer.
A sub group has been formed to consider all potential financial options and the 08/09 budget will be reviewed in detail with respect to identifying all possible efficiencies.
Playing – Adult
1st team performances much improved, several good results and realistic target to win final 4 league games of the season.
This season we have registered 42 new players of whom 28 have played 1st XV league.
2nd & 3rd team fixtures happening reasonably regularly
pre-season, including migration of U18s to senior teams already planned, along with expanded coaching team under Jon Cant
Ladies having tough year – potential relegation. Still in need of more numbers.
Playing – Youth
April 13th mini festival plans well advanced and looking good under James Smith
385 registered junior players this season – well up on last season
New structure for youth management progressing – more news soon.
Governance
“Belfast” sinks installed by showers – all players to wash off there and NOT in the toilets.
