2009-2010 Well the season is almost upon us with summer training starting in just under 6 weeks! I hope during summer training we will get enough players to enter into a league at both age groups. I have stepped down as Lead coach and take up an assistant coach role instead. Steve Burnell is the person to take over the lead coach position. He is a level one coach like me with both of us having aims to become a level two coach in the near future. We have got a much bigger coaching structure in place this season including Dave Harvey who is a level two coach. The success last season was a massive improvement on the season before. If we see the same difference between last season and this one then we will be heading in the right direction. The only way to make this possible is for you to join so I hope to see you at Camberley RFC soon!
2008-2009 Last season was a massive success with 8 girls registered and many more training with us. We decided it was best to get some game time and to do so combine with London Irish. There was great suggest such as: Winning the Surrey league, getting to the semi-final of the natural cup, getting to the knock out stage in all tournaments entered and winning the London & south east tournament. It has not always been this easy as last season when Sarah Randall and I took over there was only one girl registered and that was Sarah! The girls that we have down at the rugby club are very committed and turn up to every training session on a Wednesday night. They train hard and get on well with each other which is a must in rugby. The team spirit is great and better than any other team I have been a part off. Most of the girls that play for Camberley now started off with no rugby experience at all and will therefore be understanding to any new player who hasn’t played. Daniel Burnell June 09
