Wimbledon B festival |
The Best start to any festival beating the host team, Wimbledon 20 - 0 with great running and rucking from everyone. Match 2 was against Old Reds and coming from behind we did a fine job to secure a 10-10 draw. Unfortunately Teddington and Rosslyn Park got the better of us as the day progressed and we lost 0 - 15 to both teams. Our squads overall skill level has increased and some really exciting rugby was played. The rucking and mauling was done with gusto and our passion to retain / retrieve the ball has greatly improved. Well done everyone ! All players had a great day and it was a good introduction to festivals for many of our new players. Thanks to all who took part and helped. |

A wonderful day with some great rugby being played. Our A team played outstandingly winning there first match against Sutton & Epsom 1 - 0. A closed hard fought game against Haslemere was only lost by one try ( 0 - 1) . Unfortunately the toss of a coin denied us a place in the final. However playing Haslemere again in the plate final we this time beat them 2 -0 to give us the Plate trophy. Well done all The B team after a rocky start lost the first 2 matches against Farnham & to Sutton & Epsom got through to the plate Final against Doking. After coming from behind and a very hard fought game we couldn't hold them back losing 2 - 3. Overall we saw some of the best play ever from our players and the team did themselves proud with true fighting spirit. |

Reeds & Richmond |
A Team 1st Game 1-1 with Richmond A - best game the "A's" played, went 1 - 0 down in the first half but battled ferociously to get back to a draw with everyone in the team pressing in attack and defence - great team performance. 2nd Game - lost 2-0 to Reeds A - a tough game lost by tacking too high and trying to rip the ball instead of putting the player down - remember the first tackle MUST be round the legs - especially when the opposition are big!! 3rd Game Won 7-0 against Richmond B - again a great team perfomance, with expansive backs play and forwards strength. Special mention to Ben L S for coming back to his determined best in this game - got the team off to a flier with a great bit of clearing out in a ruck creating a gap for another camberley player to break free and score.
B Team 1st Game 0-1 with Richmond B - A great hard fought game with only one mistake costing us a point. We had control of the game throughout and thier coach even said we were the better team. 2nd Game - Won 3-2 to Reeds B - Wonderful rugby coming from a try down to win 3-2. Great powerplay kept us 1 try ahead throughout the rest of the game, even keeping the ball from being grounded twice.
3rd Game Won 1-0 against Reeds C - Playing a fresh C team allowed us to try players in different postions. Again we controled the match and have termed a new move "do a Lewis" |

Chobham |

14th March - Chobham What a great day for Rugby The first hour was devoted to some great attacking drills thanks to the Chobham Coaches Then its was match time A Team: Even with a Valiant effort it was hard to keep back such a strong Chobham team and we lost both matches. With Lewis winning the Best effort award. B Team: In the first game we won 5-1 with great play from the whole team. A special mention to Ben and Gabby for great vision of play. The 2nd game our tired team held a fresh Chobham team to a 1-1 draw. Again with great defensive play on our 5m line. Man of the match went to Ben Howard playing as fly half for his leadership and communication to the rest of the team.
Overall some great play seen and with a few tweaks here and there we will be a force to be reckoned with! Well done everyone who was involved!

Our A Team had a wonderful day playing some outstanding Rugby. Playing 7 matches with out loss ( 5 wins and 2 draws) unfortunately only came in 2nd by 2 point. Drawing against Wallingford the festival winners and Bracknell. Our B Team were always going to have a tough day but still played bravely, winning 1 and drawing 2 out of there 7 games. With no subs they did their team proud by pounding away at the opposition.
